Some kind of plate shenanigans going on there. Nice old rig, I guess 1977.

Looks like it is — or was — registered as a collector vehicle in both Texas and WA. It is seriously spotless. I can’t believe it’s just sitting outside...

Not being driven, apparently - its dirty out there. Street scene looks like Seattle, kind of reminds me of Magnolia or West Seattle . Great color, too.

Vaguely where South Jenkin intersects with 33rd.... Serious money out here, still many inconspicuous homes standing (though certainly not the one I worked in today...)

Not familiar with that exact location, appears to be the crest of a hill though. Sounds like the kind of places that the lucky (I mean hardworking and bootstrapping) ones bought for 100K in 1985 and are worth 1.5MM today.

‘73-’74... Full removable top went away in 1976, and the ‘75 had a larger grid design in the grille.
¡Me gusta!

Nice, more minutiae for me to memorize.
I like these too. Remember Charlton Heston’s custom one in ‘Earthquake’?

Never saw it, but now I want to! I still have mine languishing in the garage waiting for me to have free time.

When I was a little kid, the family across the street had a white one, but I don’t think it had a removable top. These squarebody variants have always been handsome rigs.
Here’s the Earthquake car, very 70s custom with a targa roof:

That is pretty neat, and oh-so-’70s! My family went through a couple of square body Suburbans when I was growing up. First car I ever drive was an ‘84 with a 6.2 diesel, so they'll always be near and dear to me.

I grew up in a semi-rural area where a Suburban with a conversion package (same idea as a conversion van) was a real status symbol . A friend of mine in high school had a hand-me-down early 80s Suburban I remember riding in a bit - it was an ex government fleet car, and was very basic. I think it was 2WD. The real nice ones are just becoming collectible now. My dad was a Ford guy, so the closest we got was an 85 S-10 Blazer, which was his last GM car, he wasn’t impressed.

Oof... I owned an ‘86 Celebrity that threw a rod on startup with 65,000 miles and a ‘92 S-10 Blazer that loved to catch fire in high school. They were so bad it took me years to forgive GM.
The squarebody is definitely getting it's own bubble market now. I hope I can get some decent coin for my Blazer and use it to go rescue some more forlorn iron out of the woods.
